Stroke
A stroke is an interruption of the blood supply to any part of the brain. It is also referred to as a brain attack. If blood flow was stopped for longer than a few seconds and the brain cannot get blood and oxygen, brain cells can die, and the abilities controlled by that area of the brain are lost. A stroke is a medical emergency.

Movement Disorders
The term "movement disorders" refers to a group of nervous system (neurological) conditions that cause abnormal increased movements, which may be voluntary or involuntary. Movement disorders can also cause reduced or slow movements. The goal of treatment is to minimize symptoms and relieve pain. Some are severe and progressive, impairing your ability to move and speak.

Neck & Back Pain
In most cases, back and neck pain may have many different causes, including any of the following: Overuse, strenuous activity, or improper use, such as repetitive or heavy lifting. Trauma, injury, or fractures. Back pain can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include overuse such as working out or lifting too much, prolonged sitting and lying down, sleeping in an uncomfortable position or wearing a poorly fitting backpack.

EEG
Electroencephalography is a method to record an electrogram of the electrical activity on the scalp that has been shown to represent the macroscopic activity of the surface layer of the brain underneath. It is typically non-invasive, with the electrodes placed along the scalp.EEG results show changes in brain activity that may be useful in diagnosing brain conditions, especially epilepsy and other seizure disorders.

Dementia
A group of thinking and social symptoms that interferes with daily functioning. Not a specific disease, dementia is a group of conditions characterized by impairment of at least two brain functions, such as memory loss and judgment. Symptoms include forgetfulness, limited social skills, and thinking abilities so impaired that it interferes with daily functioning.

Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a central nervous system (neurological) disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations, and sometimes loss of awareness. Anyone can develop epilepsy. Epilepsy affects both males and females of all races, ethnic backgrounds, and ages.

EMG
Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic procedure to assess the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them (motor neurons). EMG results can reveal nerve dysfunction, muscle dysfunction or problems with nerve-to-muscle signal transmission. The test is used to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities. During the test, one or more small needles (also called electrodes) are inserted through the skin into the muscle.

NCS
A nerve conduction velocity (NCV) test — also called a nerve conduction study (NCS) — measures how fast an electrical impulse moves through your nerve. NCV can identify nerve damage. During the test, your nerve is stimulated, usually with electrode patches attached to your skin. As the nerve is stimulated, you will experience a brief electrical shock. This may feel uncomfortable, but it usually isn't painful.

Migraine
Migraine headaches are sometimes preceded by warning symptoms. Triggers include hormonal changes, certain food, and drink, stress and exercise. Migraine headaches can cause throbbing in one particular area that can vary in intensity. Nausea and sensitivity to light and sound are also common symptoms.

Parkinson's Disease
A disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including tremors. Nerve cell damage in the brain causes dopamine levels to drop, leading to the symptoms of Parkinson's. Parkinson's often starts with a tremor in one hand. Other symptoms are slow movement, stiffness, and loss of balance. Medication can help control the symptoms of Parkinson's.

Vertigo
A sudden internal or external spinning sensation is often triggered by moving your head too quickly. Vertigo can have causes that aren't due to an underlying disease. Examples include spinning in circles or medication side effects. Sitting down right away and rising slowly when getting up may help relieve vertigo. To improve balance, using a cane may also help.

MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique that uses a magnetic field and computer-generated radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues in your body. Most MRI machines are large, tube-shaped magnets. Most types of MRIs take about 15 to 90 minutes to complete. In some cases, your MRI might be shorter or longer.
